National Park hikes on Lake Neusiedl
In spring a lot is happening on Lake Neusiedl: the wide reed belt and the transition from water to land offers perfect breeding grounds for many rare animal species. Look forward to wonderful hikes with or without a guide.

The National Park Neusiedler See Seewinkel – a success story
As Europe's most western steppe lake the Burgenland locals knew very early about the meaning of this unique natural environment (steppe lakes have an extremely flat basin, Lake Neusiedl, for instance, only has a maximum depth of 1.8 metres). Already in the 30s people had ambitions to protect this area. But it was only declared “national park” in 1993 and stretches over almost 10,000 hectare on the Austrian side and further 23,000 hectare in neighbouring Hungary. Since 2001 Lake Neusiedl is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
