Cycling holiday on Lake Neusiedl

With more than 300 days of sun the warm season starts a bit earlier here on Lake Neusiedl than in the rest of Austria. Look forward to cycling tours to gorgeous places in the vineyards and Austria's biggest lake, while in other parts of Austriathere is still snow.

Through the World Heritage on two wheels
Lake Neusiedl is not only unique in Europe due to its bird species. In 1993 this area was declared National Park Neusiedler See - Seewinkel because of its faunal and floral biodiversity. Lovely cycle paths lead around and through the region and take you to the vineyards and very close to the water. Enjoy everything thoroughly but please do take care of the natural environment.

Bike repair, bike rental, bike taxi
Our team is gladly available for your smaller repairs, you will also find tools on site. We recommend that you take your own multi-tool with you on your tours. There are plenty of bike repair shops and sports shops in every town, where you will always find a helping hand.
The closest e-bike rental can be found at Sonnenhof directly in Mörbisch. By now there are also several charging stations located around the lake. Should you have overestimated yourself and need a bike taxi for your way back to your Das Schmidt Private Hotel, then call the taxi company Scheck +43 (0) 664 5232828) or Michalik (+43 (0) 664 1515151) who will gladly pick you up.
Cycle to Hungary
Peaceful and pleasant Mörbisch is the last town before the border to Hungary and a trip there is of course always worth the journey. Thanks to Schengen you can easily pass through with your ID card (non-citizens of the EU need a passport).
By the way: On your arrival you will get a chip-watch that will give you access to the bicycle garage from 8am-8pm. Non-guest do not have access to the garage, but we would still recommend that you lock your bikes. Maybe for no other reason than to not confuse your bikes with the hotel's rental bicycles.
